Last night I was shooting one of our famous landmarks, the Watts Boat house. I was probably there about 45 minutes to late as all the light had left the sky. (Architecture photography 101) This image is the best of them. For those of you interested this was taken with a 5D using a 70-200 f2.8 lens, on a tripod and shot at f16 for 15s. It was taken for a series of images I am working on called “shot in the dark” There is some post production work involved in the final image.
A new blog
This is a WordPress blog. It’s something else to learn – our main blog, BlogIsis, is a Squarespace blog – both very different in their own way. Squarespace have designed an interface that is very easy and intuitive to use. It’s very cool and if you need a blog quickly and have no tech skills at all then I’d definitely recommend them. You don’t have to worry about hosting, it’s included and their plans start from $8/month. Their customer service is also excellent which if you are new to blogging is a definite bonus coz you’ll need it at some point.
I’m obviously very excited about Squarespace so why you may ask am I here flirting with WordPress? It a good question and the blame lies firmly with our website company Big Folio who provide our main site. Part of the deal with getting a premium site is a free blog. Having just opened our studio anything that is free is well worth investigating. So here I am drowning in WordPress – I have to say that from the few hours I have spent with it the potential for anyone with a modicum of knowledge is vast. Plugins, themes seem to be endless. Finding one that is right for you however is another thing. Really I just want to show off some photographs and wax lyrical – not sure if this current theme will do that but it’s a start.
